City of Surrey Events
The City of Surrey has tons of events, from positive parenting workshops to community art planning to yoga classes and even spring break camps for kids! Check them all out at the city’s website.
Monthly Bird Walks
Held from February through May, a local naturalist will host a regular series of monthly walks during which you can do some bird watching and discover the range of species in the area. Learn how they adapted to the environment and why our parklands are essential to their survival. The walks are drop-in with no registration and will be held March 18, April 22 and May 20.
Positive Parenting Workshops
Free parenting workshops are held through June 20 for parents of children of all ages from 5 through 18. Work through difficulties you might be having, talk with other parents, exchange notes and get advice on positive parenting techniques while making new friends in the community!
Community Art Planning
If group art is your thing, or you just want to get involved with the community, try out our community art planning meetings! Held at the Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre, you can meet people around the community, share creative pursuits, and talk about ways to beautify the community through art.
Yoga and Meditation Classes
Come join our Sahaja Yoga Meditation at the Centre City Library, every Wednesday through May 3! If you’re looking to learn new ways to relax and fill your life with joy, peace and love, this is a great practice. These free classes are held weekly and newcomers are welcome!
Spring Break Day Camps
The city offers special day camps for kids aged 3 to 16 at city rec facilities in many neighbourhoods. You’ll want to register and complete the consent and medical disclosure forms in advance. Your kids will enjoy a variety of activities from science and nature to history, leadership, sports, creative arts and more! There are programs for special needs kids available as well.
